All children are expected to have a change of black soft-soled footwear (plimsolls) for inside school just in case their school shoes become too muddy to wear inside school.  Plimsolls are also handy to wear for some PE activities (as long as they are fastened and fit securely).  But plimsolls are not suitable for outside PE when the weather is wet.
