Computing – Purple Mash

Purple Mash supports Year 2 online safety through age-appropriate content covering:

  • Understanding what personal information is and why it should be kept private
  • Knowing that some information should not be shared online without permission
  • Understanding that people online may not always be who they say they are
  • Recognising safe and unsafe online behaviour
  • Knowing how to respond if something online makes them feel worried, upset or uncomfortable
  • Understanding how to ask a trusted adult for help with online concerns
  • Using technology responsibly and respectfully
  • Understanding that online content can be saved, shared and seen by others

 

 

PSHE – Coram Life: SCARF

SCARF supports Year 2 online safety through age-appropriate themes within units including “Keeping Myself Safe” and “Rights and Respect.” Topics include:

  • Identifying personal information and understanding why it should be kept private
  • Recognising situations that may make them feel unsafe, worried or uncomfortable
  • Understanding the difference between safe and unsafe secrets
  • Knowing how to say “no” and seek help when something does not feel right
  • Identifying trusted adults who can help them if they experience a problem online
  • Understanding that their actions can affect others when using technology
  • Developing respectful and responsible behaviour when communicating and using digital devices
  • Knowing that they should tell a trusted adult if they see or receive something online that worries them
