Computing – Purple Mash
Purple Mash supports Year 2 online safety through age-appropriate content covering:
- Understanding what personal information is and why it should be kept private
- Knowing that some information should not be shared online without permission
- Understanding that people online may not always be who they say they are
- Recognising safe and unsafe online behaviour
- Knowing how to respond if something online makes them feel worried, upset or uncomfortable
- Understanding how to ask a trusted adult for help with online concerns
- Using technology responsibly and respectfully
- Understanding that online content can be saved, shared and seen by others
PSHE – Coram Life: SCARF
SCARF supports Year 2 online safety through age-appropriate themes within units including “Keeping Myself Safe” and “Rights and Respect.” Topics include:
- Identifying personal information and understanding why it should be kept private
- Recognising situations that may make them feel unsafe, worried or uncomfortable
- Understanding the difference between safe and unsafe secrets
- Knowing how to say “no” and seek help when something does not feel right
- Identifying trusted adults who can help them if they experience a problem online
- Understanding that their actions can affect others when using technology
- Developing respectful and responsible behaviour when communicating and using digital devices
- Knowing that they should tell a trusted adult if they see or receive something online that worries them
