In PE this term, Year 4 are learning all about netball. We have been focusing on developing our passing skills, particularly chest passes and bounce passes. The children are working hard to improve their technique, accuracy, and teamwork as they practise these fundamental netball skills. It’s been great to see their confidence growing each week as they apply what they’ve learned in fun drills and small-sided games.
In Year 4, children have been exploring the exciting history of rock and roll, learning how this lively style of music first emerged in the 1950s and quickly spread around the world. They discover how rock and roll combined elements of rhythm and blues with country music, creating a sound that was energetic, fun, and made people want to dance. The class also tries out the hand jive, a popular dance from the time that uses clapping and hand movements instead of big dance steps.
This week, Year 4 have been busy writing speech. We have been looking at the words spoken and the reporting clause and being able to place the punctuation in the correct place. We based our sentences off our new book, 'Arthur and The Golden Rope'.
