We collected data in the form of a tally chart to see how densely or sparsely populated an area was linked to the amount of traffic that was present. Once we returned we anaylsed our data in the form of a likert chart.

PSHE - This week, Year 6 took part in an engaging PSHE workshop focused on online mindfulness. The children followed an interactive map and used a toolkit of kindness to work through different online scenarios, collecting golden coins along the way! They explored key themes such as: Staying safe online How words and emojis can be misunderstood or misinterpreted The difference between misinformation and disinformation How to avoid spreading harmful or inaccurate content Throughout the session, pupils reflected on how to apply the SCARF values — Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship — to their online interactions. It was a valuable and enjoyable opportunity for Year 6 to strengthen their digital awareness and practise positive online behaviours.

Literacy - This week in Literacy, Y6 created a shared narrative poem by retrieving vocabulary from our core text Wisp: A Book of Hope. We thought about the word classes used: interesting verbs to describe the wisp’s movements, adjectives for description of feelings, characters and setting and the use of similes and metaphors to create imagery and used these as inspiration to plan our poems.
PE - Netball - We developed passing and moving to maintain possession (chest pass, overhead and shoulder pass) and used a variety of attacking skills to lose a defender
Maths - We used manipulatives to identify factor pairs and create arrays to reach the product
In RE, the children discussed whether scientists could have religious beliefs and explored how science and faith can coexist. We defined the term ‘worldview’ as the way someone thinks about the world and their place in it. With that in mind, the children explored the following questions about Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawking, Francis Collins and Albert Einstein: What contributions did this scientist make to science? Did this scientist have any religious beliefs? How did they relate these beliefs with their scientific work?

The Mysteries of Harris Burdick is a collection of intriguing images created by a man named Harris Burdick, who mysteriously vanished. Each image has a title and a line of text, inviting readers to imagine their own stories. The children created a snippet of their own story using role play and writing speech sentences.
