School Dog

Say, "Hello" to Rusty, the school dog. Rusty is a puppy Cockerpoo and he has been coming in to school with the Headteacher since he was a baby. He will turn one years old at Christmas 2021.

At Hertford Heath we use Rusty to help the children learn how to nurture and care for something. Rusty is often taken on school tours to say hello and good morning to the children. He can also sometimes be seen walking around the school with the Head or even some of the older children too.

In the afternoons, Rusty tends to go in to the Zen Den and spend some time with Mrs Kell, who has groups or individuals for SEMH interventions. There are some big cushions in the Zen Den, and some bean bags, which Rusty loves. Plus - he doesn't molt and his coat is super soft and he loves a cuddle.
